VERONA CHEER FOR A CURE
The Verona High School Cheerleaders will be hosting their “Cheer for a Cure” Fundraiser on Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 6:30 in the Verona High School Gymnasium. This long standing tradition will feature performances by the Verona High School Varsity and JV Cheerleaders, Verona Eagles Minis, Verona Competitive Cheer Team and all Eagles Cheerleaders.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Minette’s Angels, a Verona based Foundation which supports breast cancer patients and survivors. The Foundation provides assistance to those in treatment, supports research and promotes breast health awareness. They offer scholarships to nursing students at Seton Hall University’s College of Nursing, scholarships to Verona High School Seniors entering the medical field, placing a priority on nursing majors, and will now offer a scholarship to a High School Senior who has a parent that has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Please join our girls for an exciting volleyball game and raise money for a good cause.
Play for the Cure with the West Milford Field Hockey Team
October 16, 2018 from 2:45 PM – 4:30 PM
West Milford High School
The West Milford Field Hockey team is working to help promote breast cancer awareness month throughout October by reaching out to local survivors that are interested in attending a FH practice and doing some drills. The administrators (superintendent, director of education, HS and middle school principals and VPs, athletic director, and former WMFH coaches) and athletes come together to participate in a team competition day. The FH program is divided into 4 teams, and they compete in various Olympic-style events during a practice.
If you are interested, please e-mail head coach Krista Provost. All survivors are invited to our team’s annual PINK BREAKFAST on Saturday, September 29th, at the WMHS cafe 8:30-10:30am. The team will provide a breakfast to the survivors and also start planning the teams for the competition day activity on Tuesday, 10/16. The team will be raising money and making a donation to Minette’s Angels.
