Team Castillo Raises Funds for Minette’s Angels at their 5th Annual Walk

On October 28, 2018, Team Castillo raised money for Minette’s Angels at their 5th Annual Walk at Verona Park. They walked for so many loved ones and wonderful friends who have battled this disease, and, sadly, for several who have battled and lost. Every single penny raised will go towards local women in need.

“Cheer for a Cure” Raises Over $2,200

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, over 100 enthusiastic Cheerleaders participated in “CHEER FOR A CURE” benefiting the Minette’s Angels Foundation.  From first through twelfth grade, ladies from Verona Eagles, Verona High School JV and Varsity Cheer, as well as Verona Competitive Cheer, put on a show of athleticism, artistry and teamwork. The evening was capped off  by a joint donation from Dekko Salon and Academy Apparel.  A special thank you to Jodi Brown, Danielle Dennis, Jennifer Rose, Jen Vecchio, and Jessica Rowbothham for organizing this wonderful event.

Over $2,200 was raised which will allow Minette’s Angels to continue helping those in treatment, support research and promote breast health awareness.  Our Foundation will also continue to offer scholarships to nursing students at Seton Hall University’s College of Nursing, scholarships to local High School Seniors entering the medical field, placing a priority on nursing majors, and a scholarship to a High School Senior who has a parent diagnosed with breast cancer.

West Milford Field Hockey Team’s “Play for the Cure” Raises $3,500

On October 16, 2018, the West Milford Field Hockey Teams raised $3,500 for Minette’s Angels during “Play for the Cure”.

The team, lead by head coach Krista Provost, worked to help promote breast cancer awareness throughout the month of October by reaching out to local survivors interested in attending a Field Hockey practice and participate in their drills. The administrators (Superintendent, Director of Education, High School and Middle School Principals and Vice Principals, Athletic Director, and former Coaches) and athletes came together to participate in a team competition day. The program was divided into 4 teams, and they competed in various Olympic-style events.

Verona High School Volleyball Fundraiser

Minette’s Angels Foundation would like to thank the Verona High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Volleyball teams for their fundraising event during Breast Cancer Awareness month on October 8th.  The evening opened with a surprise visit from the Verona PBA Local 72 and a donation check for $250 to the Foundation.  A special thank you to the VHS Spike Club, Len Waterman, Coach Ryan Brown and Athletic Director Robert Merkler.

It is because of everyone that participated that our Foundation can continue our Mission.  The money raised will allow us to continue providing assistance to those in treatment, support research and promote breast health awareness.  Our Foundation will continue to offer scholarships to Seton Hall University Nursing Students, scholarships to Verona High School Seniors entering the medical field and a scholarship to a High School Senior who has a parent diagnosed with breast cancer.
